Mamelodi Sundowns, South Africa’s only representative at the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup in its new format held in the United States, won their first game of the tournament beating Asian side HD Ulsan and securing a further $2 million (R35892698,00) for the win. This adds on to the $9.5 Million (R170490315,50) participation fee. This secures R210 Million for the South African side who are still yet to face Brazilian side Flumanense and German side Borussia Dortmund.

The hard fought victory was secured by Iqram Rayners, the striker is enjoying a hot streak and we hope sundowns can go further in the competition to fly the SA Flag high.
