American influencer Speed is having the time of his life in South Africa, even extending stay. In what was not a true South African tour in Cape Town, Johannesburg showed out with true SA fashion. From music stops, township visits and coordinated activities such as spinning. Johannesburg showed the true South African flare. Speed was having so much fun he chose to extend his stay.

The visit in Johannesburg featured local acts such as Robotboii, Bontle Modiselle and music exec Nota among other local creators. Dj Sbu has claimed to be the organiser of the activities and with close ties with Nota that doesn’t seem far fetched. The influencer culture is growing in South Africa and the world alike, may it open doors and create opportunities for kids to express themselves.

Bad Takeaway

The iShowSpeed tour proved once again how Cape Town does not reflect the true nature of South Africa. In what seemed like infiltrated land, foreign owned shops and food took over as well as the more hyping of European culture rather than true South African culture.
