Popular Lekompo Musician Shebeshxt Arrested For Attempted Murder

Lekompo artist Shebeshxt, real name Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, has reportedly been arrested in Polokwane, Limpopo on Wednesday morning. Police in Limpopo arrested the 30-year-old popular musician during an intelligence-driven operation conducted in the upmarket suburb of Bendor.

The arrest was executed through a joint operation between the Provincial Investigation Unit and the Provincial Tracking Team following the issuance of a warrant of arrest linked to a case of two counts of attempted murder registered at Westernburg SAPS.

The arrest relates to attempted murder incident where he allegedly shot and wounded a motorist in a road rage two weeks back in Limpopo. The road rage incident on October 19 that left 34-year-old motorist Petrus critically injured with gunshot wounds to the cheek and stomach. The altercation escalated from a petrol station dispute on Witklip Street, where Shebeshxt allegedly fired shots from his blue Volkswagen Golf. He remains in custody awaiting court appearance, adding to his prior legal issues including past attempted murder charges and a fatal car crash in June 2024 that killed his 9-year-old daughter.
